I first heard about Sandy about Thursday, a week ago.
Wasn't really interested enough to know if it was actually going to affect me, but it was by the weekend that I started hearing it was coming my way.

End of the weekend, apparently Sandy has actually killed people, and people were forecasting it was going to be worse than Irene, which struck some time ago. I don't remember when Irene happened.
Then I'm seeing stuff online about it, like on Facebook, and on NeoGAF.
It was Monday morning that I had come to realize that Sandy was going to inhibit my lifestyle in some way.

It began to drizzle before the afternoon rolled it, and the trees swayed more strongly than usual.
masteryoshirider 12:40 am
I was eating in the living room with my dad at 4:15 PM, when suddenly...
EVERYTHING TURNED OFF.
masteryoshirider 12:41 am
This pissed me off because I hadn't finished charging 3DS entirely, which was only halfway full.
And as we all know, the 3DS has poor battery life.
masteryoshirider 12:42 am
I spent the rest of the afternoon reading the issue of Nintendo Power that I never got around to reading yet, and only stopped because of the darkness.
At that time, my mom came home from work, and we all settled by setting up candles everywhere so we wouldn't trip over something like our dog.
Mind, the wind started really kicking up now.
I remembered that I had a car charger for my 3DS. My life was saved.
Except I couldn't remember where it was.

As a substitute, I just used the DSi I still had and played Picross 3D until about 10:00 PM.
A lot more viable to do, given the DSi has a much better battery life than the 3DS.
I had a weird urge to play Animal Crossing, so I switched to that.
Instead of my bedroom on the second floor, I slept on the cold hardwood flooring that was covered in blankets in the living room with my parents, in case something went down overnight.
masteryoshirider 12:47 am
We only stayed down there for an hour because the storm had subsided.
I still remember how it felt, though. The house literally felt like it was tilting, which made me feel nauseous.
masteryoshirider 12:48 am
Once we went back to our rooms, I stayed up until 2:00 AM before I went to sleep.
masteryoshirider 12:49 am
I wasn't even doing anything during that time. I was just there on my bed.
masteryoshirider 12:50 am
Although, it was during this interval that I made a scientific discovery that I had never encountered before.
The candle had gone out, but I was playing around with a flashlight like a sword.
When I stopped messing around with it and turned it off, I noticed that screen of my CRT television had a weird glow.
masteryoshirider 12:51 am
About a minute later, that glow disappeared.
masteryoshirider 12:52 am
I spent the next half hour pointing the light of my flashlight to the screen and discovered that the light that is projected from the flashlight is absorbed into the television for a small amount of time, making it look as if it had been recently been turned on.
And then I went to sleep on the first night.
