Online multiplayer.
That's pretty much all I want.

Hmmm... The caves from Pikmin 2 should leave, and instead we should have more areas. I'd like to see at least 2 new types of pikmin. And maybe increase the number of pikmin you can have on the field to 150... or 120...

The multiplayer in Pikmin 2 was great, and I think it should be expanded upon.
The story of the game should center around assassinating the President's family, though. For the lulz.

I also agree with the online multiplayer thing, as for the caves, according to pikipedia there'll be caves but they'll be better and not randomly generated, also according to pikipedia the story will be about olimar taking his family to the pikmin planet for a vacation, and something goes wrong or something. I like the assassination thing idea better though.lol

Caves are a very good idea since they easily allow enclosed boss battles.

Oh, well never mind what I said about the caves, just as long as they're not randomly generated.

I agree with zeldafreak, the overworld Pikmin and Pikmin2 lands wouldn't of been special if they were randomly generated, i guess the same goes for caves, it would be cooll if the treasures/ship parts were in random places though, every time you played it. of course there would be some that wouldn't be random though.

The caves are supposed to give off a different mood than the overworld. The overworld and the caves give off completely different feels: One you're free and open, things are consistent, the food chain is there, it's nature, and there is no risk. The caves, however, are crazy, closely compact, and you're completely secluded from the outside world (no reinforcements). Thus, in the chaos of the cave, the environments themselves bend. ...I dunno, but I think it's perfect. And caves aren't supposed to be memorable in the same ways the overworld is.

ludwig has a point, if there isn't any random traps such as falling boulders, dangerously placed bottomless cliffs, those things that come out of the ground and eat pikmin, etc. then the caves will have less of a "survive underground" mood. But since the pikmin series has been focused less on mood and atmosphere, and instead more on gameplay with each coming game, i geuss not random caves fits the sequel.

It might be cool to see a new type of onion. Like, one that drills underground, so you can use them in caves.

I'm hoping for more expansion on the different coloured onions seen at the end of Pikmin 1. I wouldn't mind if some of the familiar Pikmin didn't return and we got some completely new types. I really want to try out those black and pink Pikmin. As for the caves, I thought they were great. I'd especially love a "Pit of 100 Trials"-type dungeon with 100 floors. Also, I'm hoping it's longer than Pikmin 2, and has more things to collect. The collecting aspect was one of my favourite parts.

It'd be a pain in the ass if those floors were actual puzzles, too. And a creative stretch. New Pikmin can threaten the balance and honestly just convolute the game.
