Well it arrived from Amazon. Just holding the box feels powerful. So today (I got it a few days ago, didn't play it due to playin' Radiant Dawn), I finally put it in the Wii and started playing Metroid Prime. Holy shit. Retro really perfected that introduction. You feel really powerless when you're ridin' the elevator and it just keeps sayin' how much stuff you lose. I'm in the save station somewhere in Chozo Ruins after gettin' attacked by some War Wasps. I didn't go to the room that the bridge leads to and I really want to see wot's there so I don't want to venture too far in 'ere so I can't get back. <.< I'm tryin' to scan like, everything. I might need to relax a bit...I think I'm in the scan visor more than the combat visor. <_<; Oh, and the Club Nintendo survey is hilarious. Can you tell us which of the following best describes who gave the gift? Parent of recipient Sibling of recipient Grandparent of recipient Son/Daughter of recipient Spouse of recipient Other relative of recipient Friend of recipient Santa Other I love how Santa is an option.

Scanning everything is half the fun of Prime. The scan system was changed so it isn't quite so overdone in the other two, but Echoes added another level of depth to the scan system. Didn't reappear in Corruption, though, for whatever reason.
Which upgrades have you recovered?

Well I did a lot of things now.
Got Varia Suit, Morph Ball (and bombs), two energy tanks, Charge Beam, got Missiles, and I think my count is at 35 missiles. I think.
And it is telling me to go to the Magmoor Caverns.

I can't believe you've never played Metroid Prime. Well, be sure to let us know if you need any help. Also, yes, be sure to scan EVERYTHING. ;D

Are you trying to get all of the permanently missable scans, or are you not bothering?

Ice Shriekbats are only a limited scan in the NTSC non-Player's Choice version only. I never really understood why people found them any more difficult to get than ordinary limited time scans. Perhaps they just took them for regular Shriekbats.

Is there a point to the X-Ray visor besides seeing Chozo Ghosts?

Is there a point to the X-Ray visor besides seeing Chozo Ghosts? With it you can see through false walls and pillars (such as those that conceal Missile Expansions), see other invisible enemies as well as Chozo Ghosts, and see invisible platforms. If you find yourself stuck, it's usually a good idea to try switching on the visor and looking for hidden platforms.
