I'm thinking Nintendo isn't holding up to others such as the SecksBox and the PS3.
Does anyone think that Nintendo will gain a second wind and take off in sales? Or just fall behind until the next console wars?
I personally think with some of the new games they were talking about - yet they didn't go into much detail - that they have something up their sleeve. But SecksBox and PS3 are both going into motion and full-body controls. Wii has some of that, but not entirely. So I'm guessing they're going to release an even better console before Microsoft or Sony get the chance.
But what is everyone else thinking?
Discuss.

Well they're definitely struggling right now. PS3 is outselling Wii in Japan for the first time, and Nintendo suffered its first dip in profits in 6 years.
Hopefully they can turn it around soon before things get worse for them.

They certainly aren't LOSING. It's just everyone on the planet already has a Wii.

Nintendo is usually doing so well that any small blip is interpreted as a failure in some form by someone-or-another. That being said, I still can't see that many new, great games arriving on the Wii soon that I would consider buying myself, besides NSMBWii and Pikmin 3 of course. I'm sure Nintendo will soon be riding on top of the sales charts soon enough, but for now maybe they should stop making Wiis? 0.o

Wot's the point of stoppin' Wii production? You're the one who said everyone on the planet already has a Wii. I know that that shouldn't be taken seriously, but if Nintendo's Wii sales are dipping because not as many people are buying Wiis, perhaps they should cut production.

They still have to sell it to the very corners of the Earth that don't have it. And they especially shouldn't cut production since Christmas is comin' right up. The PS2 sold more and it didn't stop production...Although, most of those sales were replacement PS2s.

'course, I haven't sent it yet due to my LP.

More likely than not will either the Sony Motion Controller or Project Natal fail to become successful to create enough turbulence in the Wii's stance to be the cause of Sony or Microsoft besting Nintendo in the video game market, especially at this point in time.

I think Nintendo is just now being hit a little bit by the fact they kind of stopped making games. I mean, what are their 2009 releases? Punch-Out and NSMBWii? And it looks like the only things actually announced to be coming up are SMG2 and Metroid Other M. I assume Kid Icarus: Partners in Not Making Any More IPs and Pikmin 3 are pretty likely, but it still seems like a bit of a void compared to the Gamecube.
Also where's Mari0 Party 9.
Either was I sort of don't see Natal/Playstation Movins really helping them as much as they'd like. It seems like the casual gamers who already have a Wii probably wouldn't want to buy a second console, especially ones with scary controllers. Admittedly they're trying to do away with them but I don't know how well that will work as long as they're still associated with Grand Theivin' Halo Football Wars.

There were a lot more games developed by a Nintendo developer this year for Wii than I think you might not be aware of:
New Play Control! Mari0 Power Tennis New Play Control! Pikmin Excitebots: Trick Racing New Play Control! Donkey Kong Jungle Beat Punch-Out!! Wii Sports Resort Metroid Prime: Trilogy Wii Fit Plus New Super Mari0 Bros. Wii
This is just for North America. Next year, what we know that are confirmed for 2010 are:
Metroid: Other M Super Mari0 Galaxy 2 Sin and Punishment 2 Endless Ocean 2 (Okay, nobody cares about this one, lol)
North America speaking, again.
From Nintendo, there clearly are games, but they haven't been appealing to the crowds to be recognized or remembered right off the bat, and I really can't blame them as much as I may want to.
...And Mari0 Party 9 might not even happen.

2010 is going to be a great year for Nintendo. It's extra special for North Americans who are getting Heart Gold and Soul Silver.

Errr, let me bold the games I consider new.
New Play Control! Mari0 Power Tennis New Play Control! Pikmin Excitebots: Trick Racing New Play Control! Donkey Kong Jungle Beat Punch-Out!! Wii Sports Resort Metroid Prime: Trilogy Wii Fit Plus New Super Mari0 Bros. Wii
I know they added stuff to a lot of the remakes, but I don't really want to count them as new when they're not. On top of that, the only real AAA games there IMO are Punch-Out and NSMBW, neither of which are really anything new.

I agree. New Play Control! games aren't really anything to sneeze at.
And of course Metroid Prime Trilogy isn't all that much better, either, seeing as none of it is completely new.
With that said, Wii Fit Plus, Wii Sports Resort, NSMBWii, Punch-Out!! and Excitebots are new. But the DS games this year certainly make up for that. BiS and LoZ:ST are both high-tier games.

How is Wii Fit Plus new?
And yeah, the DS never really has much of a problem. It might have died down a little bit, ALSO WHERE'S PERFECT PROSECUTOR, but pretty much as long as they make Pokémon games I'll be happy. :3
