Rawk and I are deciding this entire page is hilarious. www.nintendo.com/corp/csr/index.jspHighlights: Comprehensive ergonomic workstation considerations for all NOA employees, including corporate support of an active employee based Ergonomic Task Force, annual and on-demand training, and multiple levels of ergonomic assessment opportunities for fixed and non-fixed workstations. NSider admins must've loved this.

Sounds sexy.Opportunity to relax, recover and spend time with family though earned vacation, sick and holiday time. Awww. How cute. YOU MUST RECOVER.A Wellness Program that supplies information, resources and activities to improve all aspects of employee health and well-being through a dedicated Wellness Web Site offering online assessments, fitness planners and trackers and personal health coaching. But judging by the wordin' 'ere, they released Wii Fit for the masses and kept Wii Fit Plus for themselves for a year.Subsidized membership to sponsored fitness clubs, or a health club allowance. No explanation needed.Health insurance premium incentive for being tobacco free or enrolling in a company-paid tobacco cessation program.Sounds cool.A free Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to assist employees dealing with legal or financial issues, lifestyle planning, stress management, child/elder care planning and more. www.nintendo.com/corp/legal.jspCan I Download a Nintendo ROM from the Internet if I Already Own the Authentic Game? There is a good deal of misinformation on the Internet regarding the backup/archival copy exception. It is not a "second copy" rule and is often mistakenly cited for the proposition that if you have one lawful copy of a copyrighted work, you are entitled to have a second copy of the copyrighted work even if that second copy is an infringing copy. The backup/archival copy exception is a very narrow limitation relating to a copy being made by the rightful owner of an authentic game to ensure he or she has one in the event of damage or destruction of the authentic. Therefore, whether you have an authentic game or not, or whether you have possession of a Nintendo ROM for a limited amount of time, i.e. 24 hours, it is illegal to download and play a Nintendo ROM from the Internet. How Come Nintendo Does Not Take Steps Towards Legitimizing Nintendo Emulators? Emulators developed to play illegally copied Nintendo software promote piracy. That's like asking why doesn't Nintendo legitimize piracy. It doesn't make any business sense. It's that simple and not open to debate.

Due to the anonymous nature of online gaming, a small number of people have exhibited bad "netiquette," resulting in threatening, hurtful or other types of inappropriate behavior. Nintendo has sought to meet such challenges by proactively providing parental-control functions and access to effective filtering.
In order to put smiles on the faces of everyone Nintendo touches, it is essential that we ensure the safety and quality of our products.
Although Nintendo DS and Wii incorporated designs for energy conservation, the expansion of our business creates new challenges in our ongoing search for ways to reduce environmental impact, challenges that we eagerly accept and commit ourselves to answering in ways that lead to continuous growth and measurable benefits to society. While it is not always easy to recognize and control environmental impact in our supply chain, we feel that it is essential for us to devote sincere efforts and tangible resources to achieving quantifiable progress in the effective management of environmental impact. We recognize this as our responsibility to the next generation.
Heading: Using the Power of Smiles to Realize the Future We Envision
By "surprise" we mean envisioning a future that no one thinks possible and achieving it in the near future.
Nintendo works to put smiles on the faces of everyone we touch and, encouraged by those smiles, we welcome the joyful challenge of putting smiles on even more faces and taking positive strides in the future to promote this mutually beneficial exchange.
With no maps or guides to this wonderful new place, we use the compass of our imagination to show us the way.
We had also considered the idea of strengthening the connector with an attachment that works like a splint used for the treatment of bone fractures, but we decided against it when we discovered that it would increase the weight of the Wii Remote and make it harder for small children to firmly grip.
Wii Sports Resort is an exciting virtual experience, so it's easy to imagine that players might lose themselves in the games and forget where they are as they swing vigorously to hit a ball or lean into a turn. In order to prevent such situations, we have inserted prompts during the games to warn players not to accidently hit other players or objects and remind them to use the wrist strap and take occasional breaks to rest.
Typo fail. And the rest of that is hilarious.
Anticipating the potential danger of any program that might coax users into extreme positions or movements as they push themselves to achieve higher scores, we take special care to remove potentially dangerous situations in the program design of all our games.
Nintendo stresses a good balance between realism and safety by ensuring that none of our games allow players to enter an anything-goes world of gaming.
One of the essential components of success is, of course, communication among the many people involved in the process of creation. In the rush to meet deadlines, however, we often forget the importance of face-to-face communication, relying on quick phone calls and hurried e-mails to save time.
We must never forget that teamwork and communication lead us to achieving our goal, and that goal is to put smiles on the faces of everyone we touch.

Inspections during the product development stage include mechanical and physical evaluations, such as drop tests and tests for temperature resistance, electromagnetic wave evaluations, flame resistance, and harmful chemical substances that might be contained in and eluted from the products. In adhering to toy safety standards, we must take into account that children may use the products in an unpredictable way. Consequently, any products intended for use in play by children are subject to the strictest of safety standards, a level of caution which is not generally required for electronic devices. In general, toy safety standards specify the following requirements: P roducts must resist electrocution or fire; products must not contain highly combustible materials or other hazards such as sharp points or pieces that may be accidentally swallowed; and products must not contain substances harmful to the human body. Since the Internet is a part of the concept, however, the potential exists for the unintentional or malicious transmittal of inappropriate content. To protect users from this, Nintendo is working with its development partners to develop safeguards for eliminating inappropriate content. Unintentional my ass. Look at your own Pokémon like Metapod and Cloyster. We've even gone as far as to base our censor system based on them!Self-explanatory. How would they play Four Swords Adventures?
This includes ongoing talks with production partners on important issues such as respecting the human rights of employees and compliance with occupational health and safety laws. We believe that increasing CSR awareness through all tiers of our procurement is essential to put smiles on the faces of everyone we touch.Entertainment plays an essential role in the strength of Nintendo products. I would fucking hope so.Her...face. ...Nintendo has touched her. And now there is a smile on her face.

Accordingly, at Nintendo Co., Ltd. we have established and distributed to our employees as their standard of conduct, the Nintendo Code of Conduct based on Nintendo DNA, the core values that represent the essential spirit upon which Nintendo was founded, and the Nintendo Standards of Behavior. Nintendo DNA? WTF?Ego ain't allowed. In addition, our employee assessments are based on merit, which is in line with strict laws governing the fair treatment of employees regardless of their gender, age, nationality, or disability. ...I hope Nintendo doesn't do affirmative action.Nintendo Co., Ltd. also encourages the active pursuit of personal interests beyond the workplace. To support and encourage our employees who wish to start or expand their families, Nintendo Co., Ltd. offers employees child care leave. To further promote the balance between work and family, in April 2008, Nintendo Co., Ltd. instituted a reemployment system for employees who had previously resigned in order to provide extended child or family care. We also have other leave systems in place, such as the Nintendo Refresh Leave System, that offers special holidays to employees who have worked a certain number of years, and the Nintendo Annual Paid Holiday Extension System which gives employees the option to extend their periods of accumulated paid holidays if they plan to use them to participate in self-enrichment or community service activities. Damn, that's why so many women are in Nintendo. Beyond the law.Nintendo of Canada was chosen as one of the winners of the Top 100 Best Places to Work in Canada 2009, an award which is announced annually by the Great Place to Work® Committee. The criteria of this award are the relationship of trust between management and employees, company pride, and employee solidarity. We were very proud to receive the award. In addition, we were cited as the 6th best place for women to work. We feel confident that we are able to establish a comfortable work environment. That ONE male employee takin' child care leave... Hm.Does Nintendo promote a balance between employees' personal and professional lives? Nintendo and my department gave me great support during my pregnancy. I was allowed to visit my doctor at any time, even during working hours. After consulting with my manager, I had the chance to determine the length of my parental leave for as long as I wanted it to be within the next three years. My decision is to return after six months, and after that I will work 30 hours per week with the opportunity to adjust the working times based on my needs as a parent. I was also informed in advance of which tasks I will be given in the future; therefore, I am happy and proud to work for Nintendo of Europe. But is there a smile on her face?In addition to personal consultations with the occupational health physician, we have incorporated a mental health support system into the Nintendo structure. So they have their own mental hospital?Committee representatives also provide seminars to equip employees with helpful knowledge about mental health and organize workshops on the use of life-saving devices such as the AED*1 taught by fire department staff. Nintendo Co., Ltd. sponsored two programs in July 2008, the "Employee Health Declaration" and the "Are you healthy today?" campaign, to increase employee awareness about health management and improve their health check results. The "Employee Health Declaration" involved a total of 222 employees who responded to the call to share their declarations of health companywide on the intranet. Wot's wrong with the ordinary Internet? The "Are you healthy today?" campaign encourages employees to visit Nintendo's occupational health physician to record their weight and waist measurement over a period of six months. Four employees, who wanted to be healthier, were invited to participate in this project. Some have even continued to report their progress. So some of four is...one or two? Mari0 would fail this measurement.During fiscal year 2008, employees participated in the "Step up to the Plate" walking challenge that involved 112 employees from all Nintendo of America's locations. The challenge was tied to the release of the Wii game Mari0 Super Sluggers, in which teams of four employees wore pedometers to track the number of steps taken, with a homerun being scored for every 10,000 steps. The teams with the most runs advanced to the playoffs, and ultimately the championship round. All participants were able to promote good health while enjoying the challenge. WTF? I guess this is the precursor to the PokéWalker.

Nintendo products are enjoyed by people of all ages including young children. For this reason, we follow the precautionary principle and avoid the use of any substance that may adversely affect the environment or human health, even if this effect has not been scientifically proven. Substances Regulated by Nintendo Natural Rubber (may cause allergic reactions) Caption: Ice Regeneration System on the rooftop of the head office building Ice Regeneration System? Is this a videogame? Anyways, so if I wanted some ice in my drink or somethin', I'd have to climb onto the fucking roof to get it?Damn you, Korea! You're not SMILING! They're sort of hot.We distribute student-created game software to the general public through Wii "Nintendo Channel" (downloadable in Japan only) so that they can actually be played and enjoyed by a broad audience. Why doesn't America get cool stuff like that?In Japan, the "Children's Rights Hotline" is a helpline that children can call for assistance if they believe human rights have been violated. The hotline is operated by the Kyoto District Legal Affairs Bureau and others, to protect children from abuse and extreme cases of bullying. Since 1999, to support this cause, Nintendo Co., Ltd. has been providing our character Mari0 for the Children's Rights Hotline's campaign poster and mini-calendar, which are distributed to all elementary and middle schools in Kyoto Prefecture. They have been well received by everyone, especially children. Fucking Mari0 is a child abuse offender, and I fucking know from fucking personal fucking experience! Asshole! In February 2007, the German Ministry of Culture in the federal state of Hessen began a project, called "Schnecke - Bildung braucht Gesundheit," aimed at improving the physical balance of school-aged children. The Ministry had previously launched a scientific study to examine the sight, hearing, and balance of several thousand school children. The study revealed that many children lacked a proper sense of balance, and there was a strong correlation between poor balance and bad school grades. In 2008, Nintendo of Europe decided to support the Ministry's proposal to use Wii Fit in its project. Nintendo of Europe donated Wii consoles and Wii Fit software for use in schools to help children train and improve their balance.Although the project is presently limited to the German federal state of Hessen, it has great potential for expansion to schools in other German states. And no potential for the many obese American school children. They never described if the Wii Fits actually did their designed job in helpin' the children, either.Nintendo Benelux contributed the use of Nintendo DS Lite and Brain Training for a research project that examined the effectiveness of the use of games by school children with Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder*2.The project - conducted at Het Noorderlicht, a school for children with Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, tested two groups of youngsters who were provided with identical learning material. Group A received the learning material through use of the Nintendo DS Lite and Brain Training, and Group B through conventional teaching methods. Research results revealed that the group utilizing the Nintendo DS Lite and Brain Training were more motivated to learn than the other group. In addition, the test results were significantly better in Group A than in Group B. It was concluded that games can be an alternative means to motivate and excite children to learn. But they won't actually learn anything. Her glasses...

In addition, while it is highly unlikely, we have a system that enables employees at individual overseas subsidiaries to report misconduct that their Executive Management may be involved in directly to the President of Nintendo Co., Ltd. ...Maybe Reggie is a wildcard. To prepare for emergencies including natural disasters, Nintendo Co., Ltd. has created and published the Crisis Management Manual as well as the Action Plan for the Control of New Strains of Influenza in accordance with the company's Disaster Prevention Standards. Our overseas subsidiaries have also established individual Restoration and Business Continuity Plans to prepare for disasters. In September 2008, Nintendo Co., Ltd. implemented the Safety Confirmation Service System to check the safety of its employees in times of emergency, and conducts periodic drills to ensure the system's smooth operation. Rawk thinks it is swine flu.Caption: Counterfeit product reporting page So the page itself is counterfeit?
I was deeply impressed by this year's interview conducted with Nintendo Co., Ltd. President, Mr. Iwata, in which he mentioned that he is striving to instill Nintendo's CSR message to "put smiles on the faces of everyone Nintendo touches" in every employee's mind, and that he regards this message as a code of conduct. Also, it was surprising for me to realize that games have grown into a communication tool which transcends the differences in languages, and at the same time, my expectations grew for games to solve various problems and lead us to a peaceful world. I can't control my laughter. On the other hand, there are various problems such as crimes and defamation on the Internet, for anyone can easily go online. I greatly appreciate Nintendo's efforts to protect consumers from being offended while playing games, but in parallel with this, I think it is important to continue providing information for the enlightenment of educators, parents, and guardians.
