www.rareware.com/After twenty-five years of developing brilliant games by accident and not-so-brilliant games by accident, Rare is now restructuring their facilities in preparation for something greater. Enter Rare: The Recycling Agency (or grocery store...or insurance company. Take your pick). In any case, the new logo isn't something I'd expect from them. It's a little too simple and dull for a company that's supposed (key word: supposed) to be brimming with creativity. The replacing of the blue and gold color scheme with the 360's is an unfortunate indicator of where the company is headed, I'm afraid; the avatar even more so. (that thing BETTER not be on the full website when it relaunches.) And "One in a Million"? Is that referring to the ratio of Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts sales to the number of 360 owners? I guess we'll find out next week, because for better or for worse, Rare's presence at this year's E3 will be a big one. Discuss.

Ah, so it does seem Rare has fallen from grace with you.
As we all remember, Rare's E3 performance last time involved Avatars and failure, along with brief-Banjo. We all established that Rare is being used by Microsoft to experiment shitty ideas (M$ probably doesn't have a positive opinion of Rare)... So no doubt Rare will do something with Natal. I wonder if they'll make a new IP for it or ruin an existing franchise.
I can totally see a Natal flail-fest...
Viva PiƱata: Party Animals 2.
I vote Recycling Company, personally.

One of the head guys (George Andreas, I think) stated that returning to existing franchises would be a bad idea.
...probably a good idea. Rare has to shake off the (stunningly still high) expectations that are attached to them and make a fresh start on a blank canvas. But please please please please don't let these avatars take the place of natural environments and animals. Rare still does that stuff at a godly level; no other developer comes close.

Rare has screwed up a lot lately (such as flat-out refusing to answer N&B questions from the fans when they themselves requested them. They've put it off for almost two fucking years.), but maybe they've been too busy with sweet Natal games (hopefully unlike the ones in the video above) to answer e-mails. I guess we'll see soon enough.
Also, one thing that always cushioned the rough parts in Rare's recent games was the music. You could always expect a good score from a Rare soundtrack, but with Grant Kirkhope AND David Wise gone...that statement loses a lot of merit. Robin Beanland is a good composer, but he can't carry the entire company...can he?

I can totally see a Natal flail-fest... THE FUTURE I blame Nintendo. There was no way motion integration would not end up that way eventually. If you are being immersed in a game of motion and at least one person is not, they will think you are silly.

00 Days Remain. Wait, what?
Oh, Rare.

Confirmed: Rare is making Kinect Sports.
How ironic that the rumblings of a triumphant DK revival emerge on the same day that seals Rare's fate as a watered-down Natal shovelhouse in the public eye. My, things have changed.

But apparently the first impressions are...positive?! www.eurogamer.net/articles/SecksBox-360-kinect-hands-onIncluding the option to upload live feed of the player to Youtube is interesting, I guess. It sounds like the perfect way to highlight the ridiculousness of Kinect and make fun of people at the same time.

Rare probably realized that relaunching the website isn't even worth it.
And I guess David Wise jumped the sinking ship just in time. I don't want him around Kinect Sports.

www.rareware.com/What a disaster. The avatars make me want to stay far, far away, and that's exactly what I'll be doing. R.I.P. Rare. Now back to Donkey Kong.

Hahahahahaha. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mdshga5uvfURare has disabled all comments and ratings from the Kinect Sports Youtube trailer. This company is up to no good, but at least they can admit it.
