wii.ign.com/articles/109/1096857p1.htmlwww.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=21806225&postcount=389I wouldn't trust IGN's word as a single source, but a very reliable Neogaf user has also backed up this rumor. It looks like we may be getting a solid DK Adventure game, folks, and personally I can't think of any developer more suitable. If we think back to 2006, Miyamoto commented that Nintendo teams had full-fledged Mari0, Zelda, and DK games in development. For four years I thought he was flat-out lying ... but maybe the insane madman was telling the truth afterall. And fortunately, I wouldn't worry about there being a lack of focus on DKC elements. The people at Retro Studios are masters as creating realistic and atmospheric environments, are they not? In any case, this game will definitely be pretty. My hype levels are bursting at the seams.

I'm sure Retro Studios is very skilled at what they do. The question is what path they will take. Will they take after Rare or take after Nintendo EAD (Jungle Beat)? Will it be a more classic side scrolling adventure or will it play like Donkey Kong 64?
Or maybe they'll do something we will never expect. They transformed Metroid into an FPS after all.

If we think back to 2006, Miyamoto commented that Nintendo teams had full-fledged Mari0, Zelda, and DK games in development. Miyamoto said that about Donkey Kong, too? I only remember him making those comments towards Mari0 and Zelda. But to think that a Donkey Kong game could be under wraps for that long...

I don't think they will go the Jungle Beat path. Retro is used to more realistic and subdued environments not unlike the ones seen in DKC, while the Jungle Beat stuff is too vibrant and all over the place.
And I'm assuming Retro Studios is the chosen developer because as a Western studio, they can do things Nintendo themselves can't do. Remind you of anyone?

Oh, does everyone remember when quite a few of the Retro higher-ups jumped ship?
Is this why? Did they not want to work on a DK game?

I don't pay attention to Retro at all.

The DKU has already talked themselves into thinking David Wise will be doing the game's soundtrack.
There's no going back. ;D

Hooooooooray! www.youtube.com/watch?v=iGqI3XQ3PUYI have a theory. See the ship that gets smashed by the Cr(octopus)? Could that be a platoon of Kremlings that have now formed an allegiance with the Kongs? To take on the much larger Tiki threat? Who else would have a ship?

So it looks like this game really is borrowing elements from everything.
DK's house looks just like the one on the DKC TV show. Not complaining, just observing.

Rawk @ Jimmy Fallon & Reggie: "GET BACK TO DK YOU FUCKERS."
Fallon's main plot was to get his hands on a 3DS.
