I watched Cthulhuigi's first two videos on Galaxy 2. It seems to have improved a lot from Galaxy in the first two damn levels. So I dunno.

It is very tempting.... now that I think about it... but I already spoiled the ending for me.

Ok. I will not spend my own money on this. I shall ask for it via birthday/Christmas.

I wasn't really boycotting the game to begin with, I just plain wasn't planning on getting it because it doesn't interest me.

By the way, the trash robot doesn't ask you to use Bob-ombs to blow up trash this time. Instead, he has you use fireballs to burn boxes. It's much easier. At least, that's how it is the first time he appears. If he appears a second time, though, it'll still probably be different. Even if the developers like the trash robot, they've clearly learned what not to have him do. He appears twice. The second time is much harder, but not near as frustrating as the original. That is, as long as you stay calm.

I never really thought that game was that hard to begin with. You just had to not be a klutz with the controls.

It just wasn't anywhere near as good as the rest of the game.

Having beaten the game two days ago, I can state with certainty that it's still the greatest platformer ever.

I just want to say I LOVE the Green Stars. For something that sounded like an afterthought "extra" at first, they add so much more to an already amazing platformer.
The first 120 stars are objective-based, so one might find themselves rushing through the levels the first time around; but the Green Stars require you to actually know the levels. A lot of work went into SMG1's levels, but the incentive to explore was obviously not there. This issue, along with one or two others, is almost 100% rectified in SMG2.
Oh, and me getting the first 120 stars in four days should be a testament to how captivating Super Mari0 Galaxy 2 really is. Gameplay alone usually does not motivate me to finish a game (see NSMBW), but Galaxy 2 is one of the few exceptions. And to think a game almost completely lacking a plot can have this effect on me?
Yeah. Absolutely incredible.

I'm at 107 stars now.
Looks like I'm going to have to actually play those damn bird levels soon...

125 stars. Bird levels weren't as difficult trying them again, but the Comet Medals were a pain.
Rawk's right. The Green Stars add a ton to this game, especially with regard to exploration. Hungry, I believe this is what you were looking for.

I've seen the game at the Nintendo World release. I had some doubts since the sequel seemed to be announced quickly after the first game, but it actually looks really good. I'm think I may get it.
