Game seems great so far, I'll probably go with that grass snake.
The new battle graphic animations are pretty incredible, though the new navigation style is gonna take some time getting used to it. Its a bit old school, but I kinda liked the old "navigate your character from above" style. It worked, this new one seems a bit complicated.
"One morning I shot an elephant in my pajamas. How he got into my pajamas, I don't know. We then proceeded to remove the tusks. Of course in Alabama the Tuscaloosa, but thats entirely irrelephant to what I am saying."
I think a major problem with Pokémon is that the games, ironically, practically refuse to evolve. Each generation is very similar to the last with a few extra gimmicks added. If you ask me, all of the things like the dynamic camera angle and battle animations should have been first inserted once the games hit the Game Boy Advance.
I think the evolution of Pokémon has been completely fine.
New content in new areas, stories, items, moves, modes (Pokeathlon/Contests/Battle Tower) and Pokémon themselves is always added.
But even the main aspects of the series are changed between generations. Natures and abilities are fairly new, and even newer is the difference between special attacks and physical attacks. These changes redefined the series and I think are often overlooked.
